2025 was a year in which we moved far more than furniture and belongings. It was a year in which we saw people in moments of change, encouragement, emotion, and courage. For some, moving meant a new beginning. For others, it meant returning home. For some, it was an urgent need. For others, simply the next natural step in life.
No matter the context, every move revealed the same truth: behind the boxes, there are real stories. And we were there for all of them — climbing stairs in buildings without elevators, protecting fragile items, calming scared pets, handling objects with history, and listening patiently to plans, fears, and hopes.
This article is an honest look back at the past year and at the people we had the privilege to help. A recap of the seen and unseen moments we experienced in 2025. And a warm thought for everyone who will begin a new chapter in 2026.
2025 — a year when moving looked different for everyone
This past year was anything but quiet. People moved more often, faster, and sometimes for reasons they didn’t choose. We saw apartments emptied in a hurry, but also families who had been waiting for their move as if it were a new beginning. We stepped into homes filled with memories, and into others that were just empty rooms ready to become ‘home’ for the first time.
What was different this year?
Maybe the fact that every move came with a more personal story. People were more open with us — they shared more, explained why they were leaving, where they were going, and what they hoped to find there.
We saw stress, but also relief. We saw people gathering their courage while folding the last pieces of clothing. We saw families arguing a little, only to laugh together two minutes later. We saw clients saying, “I didn’t think we’d finish today,” and then sending us a photo that evening with their living room already set up.
In short: 2025 was a full year. We’ll admit, at times a difficult one. But it was also a year in which moves carried more meaning than usual, because behind every door we found a different story.
What we truly moved: not objects, but stories
If we had to summarize the year, we wouldn’t say “we moved X boxes” or “Y trucks.”
The truth is, we moved things that only our clients can fully understand.
We carried couches down from fifth-floor walk-ups and wondered, at every step, how they even got up there in the first place.
We moved cats that refused to come out from under the bed, dogs that greeted us as if they’d known us forever, and terraria we held as if they were works of art.
We handled boxes of old vinyl records, book collections cared for over decades, and—on one memorable day—a piano with more history than the truck itself.
We entered apartments where people were leaving with difficulty, and others where they couldn’t wait to reach their new home.
We saw families starting their life in a better place.
We met couples moving into their first apartment together.
We stood beside people who lived alone, who packed their whole life into a few boxes and said, “That’s it — I’m starting fresh.”
And more than once, we heard this sentence:
“It’s not hard to move the things… it’s hard to leave something behind.”
This year reminded us that a move is never just about furniture.
It’s about what you lived there.
And what you hope to find in the place you’re going.
We only help with the transport.
The rest is the story of the people we move.
Lessons of the year: what each move taught us
2025 taught us a few things you won’t find in moving manuals — things you discover only when you walk into people’s homes every single day.
First, we learned that people never move just because they feel like it.
Sometimes they move because they have to. Other times because they’re hoping for something better. Or because the place they’re in no longer feels like theirs.
The reason changes, but the emotion behind it is almost always the same: fear mixed with the desire for something new.
Second, we learned that every object has a story, even when it seems ordinary. A pillow, a photograph, an old armchair… many times we’re moving memories people aren’t ready to leave behind.
We also learned that patience matters more than strength. When someone is stressed, they don’t just need someone who can lift heavy things. They need someone calm — someone who can explain what comes next, reassure them, and find solutions when nothing seems like it will fit through the door.
And perhaps most importantly, 2025 showed us that a successful move isn’t just about delivering furniture safely. It’s about the person breathing easier that evening, in their new home, knowing the hard day is over — and that it went well.
That’s the lesson we value the most.
How we cared for the people who chose us
This year made us realize even more that people don’t call us just for boxes and trucks.. They call us because they need someone to help them through a complicated day. Sometimes a very complicated one.
There were days when we arrived at moves where everything was prepared, organized, and calm. But there were also days when we stepped into homes filled with tension: tired children, scared pets, unpacked items, deadlines, worries, arguments, hesitation.
And in all these moments, we tried to do one thing: to be the calm part of a chaotic day.
We explained what was coming next, found solutions when the doorways seemed too narrow, repacked items that risked getting damaged, took short breaks when someone needed to breathe, held pets until they calmed down, listened to stories, questions, concerns.
And beyond the moves themselves, we tried to help people in other ways too: we created guides, articles, and real explanations about moving for anyone who needed them.
Whether they chose us to help or wanted to handle their move on their own, our goal was the same — to offer advice that is useful, clear, and uncomplicated. You can read them here.
We did this because we know how stressful moving can be — and sometimes a good article solves a fear or a question faster than a phone call.
And we’re not stopping here. In 2026, we’ll continue to write, explain, and bring clarity to everything related to relocation. For everyone who needs it, not just for those who choose us as their movers.
What we wish for our customers in 2026
For all the people we met in 2025 and for those we’ll meet in 2026, we wish the same thing: that their moves be easier than they expect.
We want them to arrive in places where they feel at home, feel safe, and enjoy peaceful new beginnings.
We want them to have moving days without stress, without hundreds of questions, and without the worries that usually come with the whole process.
We hope every move is clear, predictable, and—whenever possible—free of unexpected surprises. That there’s someone who answers questions, someone who explains, someone who lifts part of the burden.
We wish for people to experience moves that take them to a better place than the one they’re leaving.
And perhaps most importantly, we want them to feel that they’re not alone in all of this.
Why in 2026 we remain the same team that puts care before everything else
In 2026, we don’t want to be different. We want to be better at what we already know works: to work carefully, calmly, and with respect for the people who open their door to us on a day that matters to them.
We don’t promise that moving will be easy for everyone — we know very well that it isn’t.
But we do promise that no one will be left alone in that chaos. That we won’t rush just to finish faster.
And that we’ll always choose to lift one more time, reposition, or rethink the route — if that’s what it takes to keep everything entrusted to us safe.
That’s what made us a team in 2025, and that’s what we want to carry into 2026: care before effort, patience before speed, solutions before excuses.
And no matter how many moves we’ll have next year, we want to remain the same people who ask:
“Is everything okay? Can we help with anything else?”
Because the move itself lasts only a few hours, but the way a person experiences it stays with them long after.
2025 showed us how different people are — and how similar the emotions behind a move can be. It reminded us that there is no “small move” or “big move” — there are only moments when someone needs help, and we are there to provide it.
In 2026, we want to remain the same: present, attentive, and worthy of the trust people place in us when they literally put their belongings in our hands..
We will continue to move belongings — but above all, we will continue to move stories. And we will do it with the same care we brought to every day of the year that is ending.
Thank you to everyone who was part of our journey. And to those we will meet in 2026, we hope your move marks the beginning of a better, calmer, and more settled year.
Happy New Year!
With care and respect,
The Moishe’s Moving Team
