If you hear a moving quote over the phone that’s too good to be true, that’s because it IS too good to be true.

Unfortunately, a voice on the phone can not give you an exact estimate of how much it will cost to move your possessions when he hasn’t seen your possessions.
For this reason, insist on an in-home estimate. You might get an accurate estimate if you have a small move, but it pays to have someone look at your goods in person. Also, moving companies are required to do in an in-home inspection if you're moving to another state and the moving company is within 50 miles of your home.
