Moishe's Moving Runs Mobile Relief Drive for Haiti in NYC
January 22nd, 2010--Jersey City, NJ--Moishe's Moving have partnered with Edeyo Foundation and 92.3 NOW FM in their drives to help Haitians after the devastating earthquake.
Over the next few weeks, people can stop by any Moishe's Moving truck or Moishe's Storage locations (in Queens, Brooklyn, or Jersey City), and drop off donations for Haiti Relief. All donations will be sent to Edeyo Foundation – an organization that has provided aid to Haiti for years before the recent tragedy. Every morning and afternoon, Moishe's Moving will broadcast the location of every one of their trucks via Twitter so that donors can find them easily, and will be happy to collect donations throughout the day anywhere they are stopped. Donations can also be made through the 92.3 NOW FM drive, and Moishe's Moving will be providing the storage of the materials as they await deployment for Haiti.
Donations to the Edeyo Foundation Haiti relief effort will be accepted on trucks in the following forms:
- Shelter: Sheets, towels, tents, and tarps.
- Power: Candles, flashlights, D cell batteries, matches/lighters
- Medicine: Bandages, gauze, soap, baby diapers
- Food: Canned food with TAB OPENINGS not requiring can openers (soup, tuna, etc.), energy bars, bottled water
All donations will be accepted but those categories are most important now. If you can, please place your donation in boxes or sturdy plastic bags and mark what is inside.
“The past few weeks have been absolutely devastating to Haitians, and we at Moishe's are eager to start working with Edeyo Foundation as a part of their relief efforts,” said Eugene Lemay, President of Moishe's Moving. “We are confident that New Yorkers will rise to the occasion by working together to help this important cause.”

Movers are the backbone of any moving company. The movers are the faces of their respective moving companies - the ones who meet and interact with clients. They have to be fully-trained, efficient, personable and professional. Movers must understand the ins-and-outs of packing and moving; they must be able to pack anything and everything, from bulky furniture to delicate items. It is also essential for movers to coordinate with one another, working together to keep a client's move organized and on schedule.
